EAT: HobNob Kitchen and Bar, Naples, FL

Downtown Naples, FL is full of fun shops and restaurants. Often, the main street, 5th Avenue, close for events and street fairs. When in downtown Naples, be sure to check out HobNob. A bustling restaurant with a bar that stretches the length of the building, HobNob was packed the evening I dined there. OpenTable even listed it as one of "The Hottest 100 Restaurants in America!"
HobNob does not have a lot of seating inside and only four two-person tables outside, so reservations are recommended. We were able to get one of the tables outside on a beautiful evening.
HobNob considers its menu to be "American style, clean and fresh." Its entreés that are gluten free are listed right on the menu. I ordered the Gluten Free Sea Bass with Coconut Pesto, Butternut Squash, and Jasmine Rice. It was very tasty, but the sea bass was a little dry.
My dinner companion ordered the Gluten Free Rotisserie Chicken with mushrooms and baby onions. It also comes with Honey Fingerling Potatoes that we found out were not in a dedicated frier (not gluten free), so he swapped it for Jasmine Rice. It still amazes me how many restaurants do not realize that fries need to be prepared in a dedicated fryer that has no wheat products or breading to be considered gluten free. A good reminder to always ask! Our server had no problem checking with the chef, and we appreciated her honesty.

HobNob is fun, bustling restaurant perfectly located in downtown Naples. With so much going on downtown, be sure to stop in for an adult beverage at HobNob's expansive bar or for dinner. Tables inside can be close to one another and the noise level can get loud, but the seats outside are quiet and a perfect view of everything going on up and down 5th Ave!
