Stripsteak, located in Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas, NV, gives the traditional steakhouse a modern twist. It uses the finest ingredients and is the brain-child of Chef Michael Mina, acclaimed chef and winner of Chef of the Year by numerous magazines.
Even though Stripsteak does not have a gluten free menu, its staff was very knowledgeable about gluten free and other food allergies. Both the bartender and our server informed us that the french fries are fried in a dedicated fryer and are gluten free! They were tasty and fried to a nice golden brown.
Once again, I was dining with a group, but Stripsteak and its staff made sure to confirm the gluten free status of all items. As an appetizer, the group ordered the Foie Gras Trilogy (pictured above). Yes, you are saying "there are only two items on that plate, not three!" Two parts of the trilogy were gluten free, but not the third, so the chef placed the gluten item on a separate plate that did not touch the other two items, yet could still be enjoyed by the gluten eaters in the group.
I ordered the gluten free 10 oz Angus Filet Mignon. Each steak comes a la carte with no side items. It was flavorful and cooked to a nice medium.
Stipsteak has a fun atmosphere tucked away on the restaurant "strip" in Mandalay Bay. The staff did a great job accommodating our large group and was very knowledgeable with food allergies. Would definitely recommend if you are craving a nice steak in Las Vegas.
